The Mochi40 is a Canadian made burger mounted 40% keyboard that pays a strong homage to the unproduced Whimsy. With a wide variety of colors, improved layout options, official Nice!Nano support, and an optional hotswap PCB, the Mochi40 has everything you could hope for!

While mega cute, the Mochi40 requires a more involved build process than that of your typical hotswap keyboard kit.
Soldering is required for all versions of this keyboard. The hotswap PCB requires the microcontroller, rotary encoder, and reset buttons to be soldered. The solder PCB requires all that the hotswap does as well as the diodes and switches.

Please look at the real life images of colour samples for an accurate depiction of the colour and ensure you have read the disclaimer above and note the QC standards below. No knob is included in the kit.

QC Standards & Grading
The Mochi40 Group Buy unfortunately was impacted by shipping failures by our carriers that resulted in some units being damaged. A significant number of units where re-made and are offered as A Grade units, however we have decided to offer some damaged units as B and C stock for sale at a discount.

  • A Stock: No dents, nicks, scrapes, colour is consistent and smooth (outside coating only), edges clearly defined and free of abrasion
  • B Stock: May be some minor dents, nicks or scrapes, should not be visible while typing, may include scrapes or nicks on the bottom or rear sides. Some edges may be slightly rounded or tapered, minor abrasion may be visible
  • C Stock: Significant dents and scrapes larger that 2-3mm in some places, colour may be subject to scrapes and may appear inconsistent

Please not that we will not be able to offer refunds on B and C stock as the grading per stock choice has been clearly articulated here.
