Ciel Extras Drop, Wednesday 30th March - 9pm (AEST)
Thank you all for your support! We are so humbled and totally floored by your support for the Ciel GB and your enthusiasm for the extras! With the drop a few days away, we just wanted to clear the air with how things will go and what to expect on the night. This is a wall of text, sorry about that pals.
Store Maintenance
We will be closing the storefront for some much needed maintenance on Wednesday evening at 7pm-ish (I have kids, so be kind). The store will reopen at 9pm for the drop. You'll know it's down when you see the enter password screen. No, you can't have the password!
HINT: PartyBoi_69 is not our password.
Region Lock
Due to the interest we have received in the extras, we think it is only fair to allow local customers first dibs on the haul we have. We would feel terrible if we couldn't provide the AU/NZ community with first dibs on these great little boards. With that in mind, our Ciel extras will be region locked (AU/NZ) for 30 minutes and broader international orders will open at 9:30pm AEST, again -ish- I have kids.
Add-ons
We gave those who entered the GB the opportunity to cop extra add-ons for their orders. We are now left over with the total number of extra add-on units such as PCBs, O-rings and such. These can be added to your order during check out as both pages will be live after the maintenance period.
Total Extras & Limits
We have ordered and QC'd a number of extras in each colourway. This means that BOTH A stock and B stock will be available on the night. There will be a SLIGHT discount for the B Stock models. Our quality expectations are listed below, in the interest of being clear. The orders will be limited to one per person, no funny business please. Don't make us cancel orders and re-roll for dudes.
Local shipping & Pick up
Yes, the extras are available for collection from the Sunshine store. Otherwise, we expect all extras to be shipped within a week or so.
International Shipping
We ship express via FedEx (this is expensive, about $70 AUD) or regular tracked international parcel via AusPost (this is somewhat cheaper at $45 AUD). Keyboards are heavy and weigh about 2kg all packaged up with extra PCBs and such. Please budget this if shopping international, unfortunately we are not able to offer anything cheaper at this stage.
Quality Expectations
Below are the guidelines as to what constitutes A Stock or B Stock. Chickenman, ALLCAPS and the other regional vendors intend to deliver the best possible product for the price. However, at scale there are some caveats to be aware of after QC has been complete.
A Stock:
- No scratches on exposed sides / user facing parts of the keyboard (after installation of plate & PCB).
- Possible marks close to daughterboard screw area and PCB mounting posts
- Possible machining marks / micro scratches on the inside of the kit / pieces not exposed to the user. This includes scratches arising from anodisation hanging rig
- Minor anodisation variation on underside
- No marks or scratches on the bottom brass weight
B Stock:
- Minor scratches or blemishes on exposed sides / user facing parts of the keyboard (after installation of plate & PCB).
- Some marks close to daughterboard screw area and PCB mounting posts
- Visible machining marks / visible scratches on the inside of the kit / pieces not exposed to the user. This includes scratches arising from anodisation hanging rig
- Minor anodisation variation on underside
- Minor marks, scratches or blemishes on the bottom brass weight
